On 2 Nov, Abhay Verma shared a diary note about shooting with Shah Rukh Khan on King, as the film’s birthday-linked promotions ramped up. The makers also unveiled Suhana Khan’s first look and released the first track, “Tu Mil Jaaye”, featuring Khan and Deepika Padukone.

A new on-set anecdote from actor Abhay Verma and a fresh burst of promotional material pushed Siddharth Anand’s upcoming action thriller King back into the spotlight on Monday, 2 November, as Shah Rukh Khan’s birthday celebrations doubled as a marketing moment for the film.
Verma, who appears in the film’s ensemble cast, marked Khan’s birthday by posting images of a diary entry describing the day he shot with the star. In the note, Verma wrote about arriving nervous for the scene and then relaxing as Khan put him at ease with humour and warmth during rehearsals. The post, shared on 2 November, offered one of the clearest recent glimpses into the atmosphere on the set of a project being closely watched for its scale and casting.
The same date also brought a key reveal for fans: the first look of Suhana Khan from King, positioning her theatrical debut as a centrepiece of the film’s rollout. The father-daughter pairing has been one of the project’s biggest talking points since the film was announced.
The birthday tie-in was visible beyond social media. In Mumbai, the Bandra-Worli Sea Link was lit up in Khan’s honour, and visual projections appeared at his residence, Mannat, teasing King as part of the celebrations.
The promotional push also included the release of the film’s first track, “Tu Mil Jaaye”, a romantic number featuring Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone. The video quickly drew attention for fleeting, darker-toned imagery that contrasts with the song’s romantic framing, including a brief shot of a young woman that some viewers online have speculated could be Suhana Khan.
Separate chatter around the film’s music has also intensified after actress Kareena Kapoor shared a black-and-white picture with Khan and wrote, “Happy Birthday King. Always ruling hearts. Let’s dance together. Can’t wait.” The post fuelled fresh speculation that Kapoor and Khan will appear together in a dance number connected to the film’s soundtrack.
King is an upcoming Indian Hindi-language action thriller directed by Siddharth Anand, who co-wrote the screenplay with Sujoy Ghosh, Suresh Nair, and Sagar Pandya. Producers include Gauri Khan, Siddharth Anand, and Mamta Anand, with the film backed by Red Chillies Entertainment and Marflix Pictures.
The cast named for the project includes Shah Rukh Khan, Suhana Khan, Abhishek Bachchan, Deepika Padukone and Abhay Verma.
Music duties are split between Anirudh Ravichander and the duo Sachin–Jigar, underlining the scale of the soundtrack ambitions as the film begins to roll out songs ahead of its release.
The film is scheduled to release on 24 December 2026, a date that places it in one of the year’s most competitive and lucrative windows for Hindi cinema. While plot details remain under wraps in official material, the early marketing has leaned on star power, a glossy action-thriller promise, and the novelty of Suhana Khan’s big-screen launch.
For the production, Monday’s updates served two purposes at once. Verma’s diary post humanised the shoot and reinforced the idea of King as a major set for newer actors, while the first look of Suhana Khan and the launch of “Tu Mil Jaaye” moved the campaign forward from announcement-stage interest to audience-facing material.
The response to the song teaser has also shown how closely viewers are reading the film’s visuals for story hints, even when the release is positioned as a romantic track. That appetite for clues is likely to shape the next phase of promotion, especially if the makers continue to seed brief images rather than offer a fuller trailer.
With nearly two months to go before release, King’s immediate next steps are expected to revolve around more music and further character-focused reveals, building toward a larger marketing beat closer to the theatrical date. For now, the film’s Monday burst of activity has made one thing clear: the campaign is using the calendar as carefully as it is using the cast.
