Carlos Alcaraz beat Alex de Minaur 6-1, 6-4 in the Vienna Open final on 1 November without dropping a set all week. It is his 28th career title and fourth of 2026, and he extended his unbeaten run at ATP 500 events this year to 16 matches. He takes on Paris Masters next.

Carlos Alcaraz won the Vienna Open on Sunday, 1 November, beating Alex de Minaur 6-1, 6-4 in the final. It is his 28th career title, his fourth tour-level title of 2026 and his first in Vienna. He dropped no sets in five matches during the week.
Alcaraz broke serve three times in the first set, and de Minaur, who took seven games to deuce, won only one of them. In the second set de Minaur saved break points in the second, fourth and eighth games, but Alcaraz broke him in the tenth and final game and closed it out on his first match point. He won 81% of the points behind his first serve, 29 out of 36.
The result extended Alcaraz's head-to-head against the Australian to 7-0, and he is now 15-0 against Australians at tour level. De Minaur arrived unbeaten in ten indoor matches this season, including his title in Rotterdam, and had beaten Alexander Zverev in the semi-final.
Alcaraz paid tribute to his opponent. 'His style is really dangerous,' he said. 'He's really fast, so you have to earn every point.' He called it an emotional and amazing week.
The win leaves Alcaraz 16-0 at ATP 500 events in 2026, with titles in Doha in February, Tokyo four weeks ago and now Vienna, all on hard courts. He is on a 26-match winning streak at that level and has not lost an ATP 500 match since the Barcelona final in April 2025. He now has 11 ATP 500 titles, behind only Roger Federer with 16 and Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal with 15 each since 2009.
He was sidelined for almost five months with a wrist injury and returned at the US Open, where he lost in the quarter-finals. He is a seven-time Grand Slam champion and his season record stands at 38-5.
Alcaraz is ranked No. 3 and has already qualified for the Nitto ATP Finals in Turin. His next event is the Paris Masters, where he plays either Jiri Lehecka or Alex Michelsen in his opening match. De Minaur, ranked No. 10, collects 330 ranking points for the final, against 500 for Alcaraz.
