The Mumbai Crime Branch has arrested a 12th accused in the case of the firing at actor Tiger Shroff's car in Juhu. The man, named Amar, was picked up from Rohna village in Sonipat, Haryana, on Friday, 30 October, and is being brought to Mumbai on transit remand. Nine of the 12 people arrested so far are from Sonipat, and police are looking at two bank transfers linked to him.
Unidentified gunmen fired at Shroff's vehicle on the evening of 18 October in Juhu, near Pushpa Park, which falls under the Juhu police station. One report says the shots were fired at about 7 pm as he was leaving a football club after a session. Shroff was not hurt. His driver and two other people were injured, and one report says an autorickshaw driver was among those hurt.
The case is registered with the Crime Branch as CR No. 143/26 on 19 October under Sections 109(1) and 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023, and Sections 3 and 25 of the Arms Act. On 27 October the competent authority approved invoking the Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act under Section 23(1)(a), and Sections 3(1)(ii), 3(2) and 3(4) of that law have been added against all the accused. Further investigation is under way.
Last week the Crime Branch recovered two firearms and 10 live cartridges from Surat in Gujarat. Investigators suspect that these weapons were used in the attack.
Amar was arrested from Rohna village in Sonipat. He is described as a friend and neighbour of Kunal, who was arrested earlier. He studied up to Class 10 and works at a supplements shop, and his parents earn a living through daily-wage labour, according to one report. Police produced him before a court and were preparing to take him to Mumbai on transit remand.
The total number of arrests is now 12, and nine of those arrested are from Sonipat.
Police allege two transfers. Kunal is said to have sent Rs 40,000 to Amar's bank account, and Amar is said to have sent Rs 12,000 to the account of Radha, another accused who was arrested earlier, allegedly on Kunal's instructions. Police are looking into the purpose of the transfers. The reports found carry the amounts as given by police sources, and they are allegations that have not been tested in court. The accused are held on police allegations and have not been convicted of anything.

Police are also trying to find out whether the transfers were linked to the shooting, and they are seeking transit remand to bring Amar to Mumbai for questioning.
Amar's family says he is innocent and that he has been falsely implicated in the case. The reports found do not carry any statement from Amar himself or from a lawyer for him, and do not say what role police attribute to him in the attack.
Nine of the 12 people arrested are from Sonipat, Amar is a friend and neighbour of Kunal, who was arrested earlier, and the weapons were recovered from Surat in Gujarat. The shooting itself took place in Mumbai, so the investigation now runs across Maharashtra, Haryana and Gujarat. Police have produced Amar before a court and are seeking transit remand to bring him to Mumbai for questioning.
Police allege that the accused used the encrypted messaging apps Signal and Zangi. Investigators are finding it difficult to decode the exchanges, which cover roughly the past eight months, according to one report.
The reports found do not name the group behind the attack or give a motive. They do not say who fired the shots, whether the shooters are among the 12 arrested, or how the accused were linked to the actor. They do not give a date for the charge sheet. Anyone arrested is presumed innocent until a court decides otherwise, and the allegations about the transfers and the messaging apps come from police sources.
