Drishyam: The Conclusion, the final chapter in the Hindi Drishyam franchise, opened strongly at the box office after its October 2, 2026 theatrical release. Early figures put its India Day 1 net at ₹66.75 crore.

The crime thriller, directed by Abhishek Pathak and led by Ajay Devgn, arrived in cinemas on Gandhi Jayanti and immediately set a new personal best for Devgn’s opening day. Reports also put the film’s India gross at ₹80.10 crore on Day 1, with an estimated ₹15 crore gross from overseas markets, taking the worldwide gross to about ₹95.10 crore.

Saturday’s trade tracking pointed to a steady start to Day 2, with collections still being reported through the morning. One live tracker showed ₹2.98 crore collected so far as of 07:03 IST from 2,274 shows across 403 cities, while another running tally listed ₹0.45 crore net “live” at the time of its update.

Big opening, busy shows

The film’s first-day run was backed by a wide release footprint. One set of figures put Day 1 at 15,759 shows, while another tracker counted 18,140 shows across 791 cities. Occupancy was reported at 67.08% for Hindi 2D shows, with the strongest turnout in night shows at 76.46% after a slower start in the morning.

Advance sales also pointed to sustained interest beyond opening day. One report put total advance bookings across eight show dates at ₹80.40 crore, or ₹68.47 crore excluding block seats. By the time the same report looked ahead to October 8, Day 7 advance bookings were listed at ₹85.65 lakh from 2,104 shows, with National Capital Region (NCR) the top city at ₹13.52 lakh.

Another tracker showed an India-tracked advance booking gross of ₹15.52 crore for October 4 shows, with 392,508 tickets booked across 17,805 shows in 2,068 theatres spanning 766 cities. Those figures reflected early booking patterns rather than final attendance, but they suggested the film would remain widely programmed through the first weekend.

Drishyam: The Conclusion is a 2026 Hindi-language crime thriller co-written, produced and directed by Abhishek Pathak. Produced by Panorama Studios and Star Studio18, the film is positioned as the sequel to Drishyam 2 and the closing entry in the Hindi series.

Devgn returns as Vijay Salgaonkar, with Tabu as Meera Deshmukh and Shriya Saran as Nandini. The cast also includes Jaideep Ahlawat as Crime Branch officer Rajveer Singh Tomar, along with Prakash Raj and Rajat Kapoor.

The film’s runtime is listed in structured results as 2h 28m, while production notes circulating around release put it in the 150 to 170 minute range.

This instalment departs from the earlier Hindi films’ close alignment with the Malayalam storyline and instead takes an original route for its final act. Writers credited for shaping this new third chapter include Aamil Keeyan Khan, Abhishek Pathak and Parveez Shaikh.

In the story, Vijay is pushed into another round of pressure as Meera and Mahesh Deshmukh continue their pursuit of accountability, while a new investigative force in Rajveer Tomar tests the family’s defences. The narrative also brings in a courtroom dimension through ace lawyer Indrajith Shetty as the battle shifts from police work to legal strategy.

The resolution, as described in release‑era plot notes, hinges on Vijay again using misdirection to blunt the prosecution’s case. This leads the court to shut the matter permanently and allows the Salgaonkar family to walk free, even as a final image suggests lingering strain.

What to watch next

The immediate question for exhibitors and the industry is how much the film can build on its opening burst over the Saturday and Sunday business. Early Day 2 numbers were still partial on Saturday morning, and final figures were expected later in the day once shows reported.

For now, the film has already cleared a key bar: it has delivered Devgn’s biggest opening-day net in India, while also outperforming the first-day numbers reported for Drishyam 2. This was said to have collected ₹15.38 crore net and ₹18.15 crore gross on its opening day.

Reception has been described in early coverage as positive on confrontations and on Ahlawat’s entry into the franchise, though some reviews flagged familiar pacing patterns typical of long-form cat-and-mouse thrillers.

With the first weekend still unfolding, the next set of updates will come from Saturday’s full-day collections and Sunday’s turnout. This will indicate whether Drishyam: The Conclusion can convert its heavy opening into a durable run through the coming week.
