Pakistan Under-19s beat India Under-19s by three wickets in their Group A match of the U19 Asia Cup in Oman on Sunday, 8 November 2026. India were bowled out for 208 in 46.3 overs, and Pakistan, chasing 209, finished on 209 for 7 in 48.1 overs. The result, shown on the BCCI match centre for Match 7 of the tournament, puts Pakistan on top of the group and leaves India with something to do against the UAE on Tuesday. The match centre's scorecard page was still loading when this report was written, so the individual figures below come from match reports and are marked as such.
Pakistan's reply was in trouble early. According to match reports, they were 61 for 5 in pursuit of 209 when Hamza Zahoor and Hasnain Dar came together. The pair added 107 for the sixth wicket, Dar making 38 before he went, and Zahoor stayed to the end with an unbeaten hundred. That stand turned a collapse into a contest and then into a result: the chase was completed with about two overs to spare and three wickets in hand. The BCCI's figures give the pace of the match: India scored at about 4.5 runs an over, Pakistan needed 4.18 an over from the start and finished at about 4.3, and with 48.1 overs used they won with 11 balls to spare.
India had won the toss and chosen to bat. Manal Chauhan took 3 for 32 with the ball; the other India bowling figures were not available when this was written. Pakistan lost a seventh wicket before the end, but India could not find an eighth before the target came into reach.
India's innings was a story of one batter. Match reports say they lost four top-order wickets with only 42 on the board before Arjun Rajput played what reports described as a counter-attacking century: 107 off 85 balls, with 11 fours and five sixes. Nobody else reached 25. The next-highest scores were Kavya Patel with 23, Aaryavir Sehwag with 22, Yashbardhan Singh Chauhan with 11 and Anvay Dravid with 10, while Ishan Sood was not out on 2. The innings ended at 208 in 46.3 overs, short of the full 50.

The tournament, called the DP World Men's U19 Asia Cup 2026/27 on the BCCI site, runs in Oman from 5 to 14 November. The BCCI's squad announcement of 30 October places India in Group A with Pakistan, Nepal and the UAE. Group B has Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan and Malaysia. Two teams from each group advance to the semi-finals on 12 November, and the final is on Saturday 14 November.
The table below sets out India's tournament so far, from the BCCI's fixture list and match centre.
| Date | Opponent | Result or venue |
|---|---|---|
| 6 November | Nepal | India won by 10 wickets |
| 8 November | Pakistan | Pakistan won by 3 wickets |
| 10 November | UAE | OCC Turf 2, Muscat |
| 12 November | Semi-finals | Top two from each group |
| 14 November | Final | Saturday |
India began their campaign on 6 November by beating Nepal by 10 wickets. Nepal were bowled out for 128 in 42.3 overs and India made 129 without loss in 19.1. That win and Sunday's defeat give India two points from two matches. Pakistan, according to match reports, have four points from two, which puts them first and India second.
India's last group match is on Tuesday 10 November against the UAE at OCC Turf 2 in Muscat, per the BCCI fixture list. The Nepal and UAE results were not available, so the qualification permutations are not worked out here; the Asian Cricket Council's table is the place to check them. With only two of four places up for grabs in each group, a win over the UAE would be the straightforward way for India to protect their position.
The side that will take the field is the 15-player squad named on 30 October by the BCCI's Junior Cricket Committee. Lakshya Raichandani is captain and Yashbardhan Singh Chauhan vice-captain. The squad also includes Aaryavir Sehwag, V.K. Vineeth, Kushagra Ojha, Arjun Rajput, Manal Chauhan, the wicketkeepers Anvay Dravid and Rajat Baghel, V. Yashveer, Aryan Savsani, Mohit Ulva, Kavya Patel, Shavin Vinod and Ishan Sood.
The BCCI has not published a team statement on Sunday's result, and the captain's comments after the match were not available at the time of writing.
