SSC has released the SSC JE Tier 1 exam city intimation slip for 2026, issued on 23 October. Paper 1 is scheduled from 2 to 6 November, while admit cards are expected 2–3 days before each exam date.

The Staff Selection Commission has released the SSC Junior Engineer (JE) Tier 1 exam city intimation slip for 2026, allowing registered candidates to check the city where they have been scheduled to take the computer-based test.
The city slips were made available on October 23, 2026, ahead of the Paper 1 exam window from November 2 to November 6, 2026 for Civil, Mechanical, Electrical and SA-IMD streams. The document is meant to give candidates early visibility of their exam city, date and shift so they can plan travel and accommodation.
Candidates can view the details by logging in on the SSC portal using their registration number and password (or username), along with the captcha code. The city intimation slip appears inside the candidate dashboard under the relevant exam module.
The SSC’s city intimation slip is not the admit card. It is a pre-exam information document that typically displays the allotted exam city along with the scheduled date and shift for Paper 1.
The commission has also indicated that the admission certificate, used as the admit card for entry to the test venue, will be issued closer to the exam. Candidates should not expect the city slip to carry the full centre address needed on exam day.
For many applicants, the early notice matters. Outstation candidates often use the city information to lock in train or bus tickets and arrange a place to stay, particularly when exam dates fall on back-to-back days across multiple shifts.
To access the city intimation slip, candidates need to use the SSC login module. After signing in, they can open the Junior Engineer Examination section or the exam city status link and download the document for their records.
In practical terms, the steps are straightforward:
Candidates who cannot see the city slip immediately after logging in are typically advised to check again later, since access can vary by candidate account and system load. The commission has asked candidates to keep checking the website for updates as the exam dates approach.
While the city slip is already available for the early November Paper 1 window, the admit card is expected later. The admission certificate is slated to be released around two to three days before a candidate’s scheduled exam date. Based on that timeline, it is expected to become available near the end of October for those writing on the first day of the Paper 1 window.
The JE examination schedule also differs by discipline. For the Telecommunication Engineering paper, the exam is scheduled later, from November 30 to December 1, 2026. The city intimation slip for that stream is expected to be issued closer to the test date, around 8 to 10 days before the examination, with an indicated release date of November 20, 2026.
The commission has also issued instructions related to candidates who plan to use a scribe, including a deadline for scribe-related registration, according to reports.
For now, candidates are being urged to treat the city slip as a planning aid only, and to wait for the admission certificate for the final exam centre address and entry requirements.
