B.P. Singh, the television producer and director who created the crime series CID and the horror show Aahat, died on 27 October at 77, according to reports that cite a heart attack. He began as a Doordarshan news cameraman in 1973. CID ran from 1998 to 2025. Last rites are set for 28 October.
